The Miserable Mill (A Series of Unfortunate Events, Book 4)

mi.jpgThe Series of Unfortunate Events seems to be getting better and better–The Miserable Mill is my favorite yet! So, I think the wait was worth it. Some important writing devices in the book were the advanced vocabulary, clever humor, and, of course, the misery. Also, Lemony Snicket doesn’t get sidetracked! Count Olaf is never blocked out of the story, but the spotlight is not always on him, either.Ideal personalities of the main characters were not fiddled with either. Cautious, yet brave, Violet; smart, resourceful Klaus; and violent, puny, Sunny kept all eager readers anticipated during this intrigueing book.

Incredible story. It is hard not to sound silly, but it literally does keep you glued to the book. It just keeps getting more un believeable. You fill find you jaw hitting the floor. Be sure not to read late at night because you will find the hours go flying by while you can’t put the book down.

Can you Keep a secret?

Can You Keep A Secret has all the makings of a good read. It is funny, romantic at times, exciting, and put together in an easy-to-read, fun fashion. You’ve got to like Kinsella’s wit. She makes an approach that should be considered “done before” but it doesn’t seem that way when she does it. Stories that would otherwise sound cliche, don’t fall into that trap when Kinsella tells them. Admittedly, the book can be very predictable at times. Of course all this chaos would “coincidentally” arise when she has confided all her secrets in a man whom she thought was a stranger. Nonetheless, it is guiltless fun, worth the read, and very entertaining. Can You Keep A Secret is a good read. Read More »

NightSeer

I was one of the fortunate few that actually bought this book new. I’ve never been disappointed by Laurell’s books, but this one struck me more than the others. Though not my favorite of her books, I think it shows that human element better than the others. The heroine is definitely fallible. A woman with noble intentions still slipping ever so slightly to the “Dark Side”. It seemed like the book started in the middle of a chronicle and it should continue on. I pray that this story continues. It is truly a work of art
