I enjoyed reading Marked and Betrayed they we full of action filled book, though the books are not well written they are much better than Chosen. Chosen was more about Zoey and her boy friend issues. She kept doing nothing much other than making out with guys. The language of the books isn’t really good influence on young adults. Half of the book she is being called a slut and last part all goes wrong where she ends up with no boyfriends and no friends. Read More »

I read the first book in the House of Night series “Marked” after a lot of persuasion that it will be another series book, and after adoring it, decided to read the second, “Betrayed”. I like House of Night as it seems a more original and imaginative take on the vampire genre.

It is set in America and about sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird and what she gets up to at a boarding school for fledgling vampires (vampires in training)after being Marked by the Tracker. (Being Marked is where are small crescent moon is permanently put on your forehead, and once you have finished the Change, the moon will be filled-in and be a sapphire colour and there will be intricate tattoos on your face, shoulders, back and front.) Zoey has been given special gifts by the vampire goddess, whom vampires worship, Nyx.

I have been trying to avoid this series for sometime. The reason being un known or may be didn’t want to read another vampire series – it turns out its vampyre in this series. But then something made me read this book. And I am surprisingly glad that i kept reading the book. It was a combination of Harry Potter and Twilight series. Its a good one sitting read. This book turned out to be addicitive for strange reason to know what happens next.

The story is about teenage girl, Zoey, who if a fledging at a vampire school were she has to fit in, even being the first Fledging to have all five elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. Her friends and best friend/room mate, stevie rae, all help her and she’s also got a liking eye to popular and handsome boy Erik. How she imprints her ex boyfriend Heath?
