Breaking Dawn was possibly one of the most anticipated books to come out this year, and millions of readers such as myself had hoped for an ending and final book that surpassed the last three in greatness. Unfortunately Breaking Dawn didn’t fulfill the expectations I had hoped it would reach. As if the plot wasn’t bad enough the new characters and old characters were horrible. When reading the end to this saga I felt as if Stephenie Meyer wasn’t there for the final one. I mean the first three books were amazing, and the fourth lacked to even compare. I felt as if Meyer wasn’t even writing this book, and that some other author had taken over and couldn’t grasp Meyer’s basic concepts to this once great storyline. Read More »

I was disappointed in this, the latest sequel to Charlaine Harris’ ‘Sookie Stackhouse’ series. There were too many sub plots, and not enough interaction with all the characters we have come to know and love. The great grandfather plot was strange from the start. I kept waiting for the real Sookie to stand up, but it never happened. I noticed the same thing in her last Harper/Grave series. Please return to your original format – I love Ms. Harris’ books, but I felt that I had waited for a book written by someone else.

This story looks like she is going in a much darker direction. There was not the fun and games like in the first books. I hated the cover, but it alerts us to the change in direction she is going. It appers to me that she is getting marketing advice on how to compete with the likes of Laurell K.Hamilton. I read the Betsy books because it offered a change of pace—it was funny. I will give her next book one more chance.

Another wonderful job in her seventh book in the continuing story of the adventures of Sookie Stackhouse, telepathic barmaid extraordinaire!! This was a great entry into the series and also just a really entertaining read. Lots of action, more romance and a lot of character development. The plot thickens in this one and it will take you on a ride you’re sure to enjoy. I am already eagerly waiting for the next book. Keep up the great work Charlaine!! Read More »

I love all of the books in this series. They’re the kind that you just can’t put down! Normally, her books flow smoothly into the next. However, this book confused me quite a bit. Several times I had to check to see if I had missed a book. From the get-go, Sookie talks of her dead vamp cousin, and of meeting the queen. WHAT?! She talks about it in a way that makes you feel out of the loop. I had no clue what was going on for quite a while! But I kept on reading, and loved it. I can forgive Charlaine Harris for the confusion, because overall the book was delightful. I’m glad Sookie is done with Bill, though I’m not thrilled with Quinn. I’m cheering for Eric!
