Some books take you for a surprise. I was recently browsing a bookshop and came across a lot of young aspiring Indian Authors. Most of them were chicklits and female authors but to find a male author in this selection was a surprise. The title of the book struck a chord with me. Even I too had a love story….so I picked the book. Haven’t never heard about the author nor the book. I felt I should try reading it, and boy did I feel touched. To know its a true story was even more touching and I could feel the pain the author must have gone through, through his words. It had a similar effect as Erich Segal’s Love Story did to me. I would recommend this book to one and all. Read More »

Really…. I did manage to finish this book within one day because it was difficult to put down with all the twists and turns happening. This series will not disappoint, as it does not have the cliche, predictable ending that many ‘romantic comedy’ novels do. I loved reading it and I loved Chaz even more than before, given that he was not as important in the other two books. It’s a great read. Definitely worth the money and time. Read More »

I have really enjoyed all of Marian Keyes’ books, so I was a little surprised to not dig this one very much. The premise of the book was promising and there were some truly good moments. However, I found it hard to care about any of the characters and I was particularly disappointed that Alecia’s viewpoint was reduced to about 4 total pages of the entire book. Maybe because the topics (alcholism and domestic violence) were so sensitive, I found it hard to find the whimsical, comedic tone I’ve come to appreciate with Keyes’ previous work. Read More »

I got this book just like that. While I do not think it is her best book, it did not disappoint my high expectations. I loved having the revelation of past events come slowly through the afflicted memories of the two sisters. Iris provided the present perspective of the clueless grand daughter, who is distracted from the truth about Esme by her own family secrets. The shift between the distinct female voices did not bother me at all. Read More »

I am so disappointed in this book! I was so excited when I saw the title but after only a few pages I knew this man was not a writer. He seems to jump from this to that and does not know how to describe settings or carry on conversations with his characters! I have only read 54 pages and I had to force myself to read that much! Gone with the Wind is my all time favorite book and I have read it many times. This book is of very poor quality writing. I cannot believe anyone authorized this book to be written. What is even worse, not only did I buy the book, I just got a copy in the mail from my brother for my birthday! Now what am I going to do with two such bad books! Maybe they will make good kindling for the fire place! Read More »
