In yet another compelling novel by one of Science Fiction’s greats, Hugo and Nebula Award winner Issac Asimov evelates himself to the level of Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, and Aldus Huxley in his prophetic view of the future. While what shall pass may be indistinct, Asimov demonstrates that the scope of Humankind’s role is not: Presented with a boundless source of energy, human culture develops at an astounding pace Read More »

‘Brave New World’, written by Aldous Huxley, was an interesting book that gave me a very strong impression even from the first few chapters. The book starts of in a place where humans are born through machine. Experts explain the process being very efficient since it creates mass numbers of humans and can also distinguish them through different class by teaching them from very young age. Of course, they talk about babies being ‘cloned’ and therefore having multiple people with same faces and appearance as if it was nothing abnormal. Read More »

I first picked this book up in a used bookstore when I was a senior in School. Since that time I have read it several times. It is, without a doubt, one of the most entertaining books I have ever read. The story moves along quickly and the characters are fun and the villians are wonderfully clever and ruthless. This book is no pulitzer prize winner, but if you are looking for a book of pure fun and great story-telling, than this is the book for you. This book is a monster of a read but it’s a monster of a good time. Enjoy! Read More »

Carl Sagan has such overwhelming passion for his subject, and coherence in his thoughts that no reader will be able to finish one of his writings without being forever touched. Billions & Billions is another installment in the established continuum of Carl’s scientific and philosophical works. Unfortunately, it also has the morose distinction of being his last. For those readers who are fans of Carl Sagan’s writings (most of you), you must read this book. For those readers uninterested in science or philosophy; purchase and read Billions & Billions for the last chapter. Anyone not deeply touched by Carl’s honest description of his passion for life and love in this chapter may want to be checked for a pulse.

Pale Blue Dot is certainly one of the most inspirational books of our time. Sagan puts into perspective our embarrassing behaviors as earthlings. But from this realization of our own ignorance he somehow manages to be eternally optimistic and positive.
My greatest fear is that this book will not reach the ones that need en lightment the most- Our young, our ignorant, and our deviant. Read More »
